Warwick Nowland, World Superbike Champion, has been announced as the Australia Day Ambassador for Bland Shire in 2025.

Known for his incredible career in motorsport, Warwick’s journey from a small country town to the pinnacle of the World Superbike Championship is a testament to the power of perseverance, passion, and the unyielding pursuit of excellence. Growing up in a humble rural setting, Warwick began riding motorcycles in his own backyard, unaware that these early days would spark a fierce competitive spirit that would shape his future. His competitive edge solidified after a life-altering collision with a car on a public road, a moment that set him on a path towards racing.
As he quickly rose through the ranks, Warwick became driven not only to race but to entertain—his performances and speeches were as thrilling as his victories, creating a unique and charismatic presence that endeared him to fans worldwide.
Warwick’s pursuit of greatness led him to Europe, where he found his true calling in the Endurance World Championship. In his first attempt, Warwick claimed the championship, solidifying his place in motorsport history. His relentless drive and persistence perfectly matched the demands of endurance racing, and Warwick thrived in the challenging, high-stakes environment.
In 2009, Warwick and his partner Kristie became parents to their son, Aston, adding a new layer of inspiration to his already driven career. The birth of Aston gave Warwick a new sense of purpose and motivation, propelling him to continue striving for success both at home and on the world stage.
