THE Western District Ladies Golf Association (WDLGA) Tournament kicked off in fine form last Monday evening, as one hundred and twenty women gathered at the West Wyalong Sports Club for a lively meet-and-greet function.
The event was a warm and cheerful prelude to the competition, with laughter, chatter, and old friendships rekindled in a packed clubhouse buzzing with anticipation.
Over 175 golfers took to the fairways on Tuesday and Wednesday for the two-day Open Championship Tournament.
Players travelled from far and wide—representing clubs from Port Stephens, Bribie Island, Warren, Mudgee, Dubbo, and beyond.
Among the field were several returning former locals, including Anne McClintock and Robin Winters (Horizons Club), Carol McKenzie (Bribie Island), and Maureen Ridley (Dubbo).
Competition across the divisions was fierce, with Scratch events contested in Divisions 1 and 2, and Stableford play in Division 3.

Foursomes finish tournament with flair
Thursday wrapped up the week with a 72-pair shotgun start for the Division 1 and 2 Foursomes Competition. The final day ended on a festive note, as competitors enjoyed a BBQ lunch generously provided by the local Lions Club and Ladies Golf members.
