Redbacks in mix for finals

WW Redbacks Women's Rugby side challenging for minor premiership

By Dane Millerd

MY BALL: The Redbacks claim the line out and share the points vs Temora.
Jumping into top spot

IT’S TIGHT at the top and that’s exactly where the West Wyalong Redbacks sit after three rounds of the South West Cup Women’s Rugby Competition after a 19-all draw with Temora last weekend.

Sitting on 16 points and with a bye in hand, the Redbacks theoretically would leap both the Grenfell Pink Panthers and Temora Tuskers into first while creating further distance between themselves and the chasing pack of Young and Boorowa.

After last weekend’s results, the Tuskers lead the way with 17 points with Grenfell and West Wyalong equal second on 16 points - six clear of Young and Boorowa. Grenfell hold a superior for and against differential of +50 over the Redbacks however such is the nature of the season this year, things can change quickly.

If the Redbacks continue their strong form, not only do finals beckon, but a home semi final potentially as well. Let’s go!
