AN iconic Main Street site is seeking hardware operators or franchisors.

A well-known and long-standing piece of West Wyalong’s Main Street is on the verge of new life, with fresh hopes for the return of a local hardware store.

The site of the former West Wyalong Hardware and Building Supplies (Home Hardware), located at 50–56 Main Street, was recently sold as a vacant possession. New owner Anthony Rinaudo is now on the hunt for a new hardware operator or franchise to take over the reins of the business and bring essential tools, timber, and trade supplies back to town.

“This place has been a staple of the community for years,” said Mr. Rinaudo.

“It’s more than just a building - it’s a vital service, especially when the next closest hardware is over 100 kilometres away. I see a real opportunity here for someone to step in and thrive.”

The property itself is primed for hardware retail success. With over 1,000 square metres of space, the modern facility boasts a well-appointed showroom, a spacious warehouse, a drive-thru loading area, and purpose-built storage for timber and pipe supplies. The layout is tailored to meet the needs of both DIYers and trade professionals.

Mr. Rinaudo believes the local customer base, ongoing building developments in the region, and nearby mining operations provide a strong foundation for a new operator.

"When is the hardware reopening? Hopefully soon - after all, 100 kilometres is a long way to travel for a bag of nails, or a screw," he said.

Anyone interested in learning more or discussing the opportunity is encouraged to contact Ray White West Wyalong on (02) 6919 5730 or speak directly with Tony on (02) 8850 1988.

West Wyalong locals are hopeful the familiar sounds of forklifts and timber stacking will be back in Main Street soon.
