IN a sweeping tour of western NSW last week, NSW Minister for Transport, Jenny Aitchison announced a significant funding boost for GrainCorp.

Today, GrainCorp celebrated the completion of its $7.5 million rail siding upgrade in Condobolin.

In attendance with the Minister for Roads and Regional Transport Jenny Aitchison MP for the announcement were Roy Butler (Independent MP for Barwon), members from Transport for NSW, GrainCorp and Australian Rail Track Corporation Ltd. - ARTC and the Lachlan Shire - The Heart of NSW.

“This will enhance grain freight capacity and efficiency, reduce transport times and costs, and improve safety for local communities. It will see about 900 Truck movements reduced,” Butler said at the site.

“This announcement is nice today but has a legacy benefit that goes on for decades,” he said.

The Minister’s visit to Condobolin came on the back of a stopover in West Wyalong where she met with Bland Shire Councillors.
