Laura Messner wins the 2025 West Wyalong Show Young Woman
Messner beats deep field to claim prestigious gong
LAURA MESSNER won the coveted 2025 Young Woman award at this year’s West Wyalong Show which was one of many highlights on a great day for the Bland Shire.
Speaking to the WWA, Laura was “thrilled and shocked to have won the prestigious honour” in such a tightly contested field.
“I’m extremely happy and surprised given the calibre of other entrants all of whom were worthy winners,” she said.
Like Macey Cowen before her, Messner will now take the next steps in her Young Woman journey - a road that has endless possibilities.
On hand were special guests including Member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke, and Bland Shire Mayor, Brian Monaghan among others as West Wyalong Show Society President, Anthony Brown, officially got things underway as host.
There was also plenty of interest in the industrial displays (results to be published in next week’s issue) and the animal exhibits and events were also popular among the kids - especially the Comedy Duck Races and Animal Farm.
The Dog Show as usual attracted the creme de la creme of the canine fraternity and if none of the above hit the spot, there was plenty of rides, attractions, exhibits and activities including the Young Farmer Challenge.
Be sure to grab next week’s WWA for full results and a complete round up of the 124th West Wyalong Show.
